The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that two beaches at Rend Lake will open for the summer season beginning May 15th.
Officials say both South Sandusky Beach and North Marcum Beach will welcome visitors for the season.
Corps officials are reminding families that children playing in or near the water should wear life jackets. Free life jackets are available to borrow at the Rend Lake Visitors Center.
A $5 fee per vehicle is required to access the beaches. Payments can be made at automated fee machines located at each beach, with credit and debit cards accepted.
Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited at both beaches.
Dogs are permitted at North Marcum Beach as long as they remain on a leash no longer than six feet.
Shower and restroom facilities are available at each location for visitors.
