Salem, IL Man Killed in Thursday Night Crash ID

The name of a Salem, IL man killed in a one vehicle crash in Marion County has been released.

Marion County Coroner Claude Howell identified the man as 19 year old Alexander Tate.  Tate was involved in a crash on Cross Road just west of Robin Road southeast of Salem, and pronounced dead at the scene.  Coroner Howell said Tate died of blunt force trauma.  The vehicle he was driving apparently left the roadway, hit a power pole, and then rolled several times, ejecting Tate.  There were no passengers in the vehicle.

The crash was reported just before 9 Thursday night.  Illinois State Police continue to investigate the crash.
