New Hope Waterworks has announced that hydrant flushing will begin for all New Hope Water residents starting this (Monday) afternoon through May 31st. This routine maintenance is performed each spring and fall to keep the water system clean and ensure safe, high-quality water for all customers.
Residents are advised that while flushing is underway, their water may appear temporarily discolored due to the presence of iron. Although this discoloration does not indicate that the water is unsafe, it is recommended to avoid washing laundry during these times to prevent staining. Residents are also encouraged to check their water before drinking, as the temporary change in color may affect its appearance.
Water discoloration should clear up shortly after flushing is completed, and customers are also reminded to avoid doing laundry during or immediately after the process.
