Wayne City Bean Queen, Ava Minor and her team announced the success of its recent toy drive benefiting patients at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
Organizers said the community showed tremendous support throughout the past several weeks and during Saturday’s collection event, donating far more toys than expected along with more than $700 in monetary contributions.
According to organizers, Minor plans to use the monetary donations to purchase toys for age groups and genders that received fewer donations, helping ensure as many children as possible receive gifts.
In the coming weeks, the team will deliver the collected donations to SSM Cardinal Glennon.
Organizers thanked everyone who donated, shared information about the drive, and helped support the effort, calling the community’s generosity “something special.”
