By Mark Wells May 14, 2026 | 5:58 AM

Communities across Illinois will gather Sunday as part of the 102 County Seats Network for a statewide day of prayer.

The effort is designed to unite believers from all 102 Illinois counties in prayer for the nation while also recognizing the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence.

Local participation will take place outside at the Wayne County Courthouse in Fairfield beginning at 3 p.m. Organizers say pastors and community members are encouraged to attend and participate in prayers focused on the nation and the state of Illinois.

The 102 County Seats Network coordinates simultaneous prayer gatherings at county seats throughout Illinois and says the events are open to everyone regardless of church affiliation.
District 4 of the organization serves Wayne and surrounding counties.
