The Marion VA Health Care System has been awarded additional federal funding for infrastructure and maintenance as part of a nationwide effort to modernize Veterans Affairs facilities.

According to the VA, the Marion facility received the funding during the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 under the Veterans Health Administration’s Non-recurring Maintenance program. This follows previous support received by the Marion VA during the first quarter of the fiscal year.

Planned projects at the Marion campus include the construction of a perimeter barrier to enhance physical security, replacement of a chiller system, renovation of patient restrooms in the main medical building, and repairs to exterior insulation and finish systems on various campus buildings.

The funding is part of a broader $4.8 billion nationwide VA infrastructure investment program aimed at improving the safety, security, and comfort of veterans receiving care at VA facilities across the country.
