Virginia Ann Naney, 74, formerly of Fairfield, passed away at 6:10AM on Saturday May 16, 2026, at SSM Good Samaritan in Mt Vernon. She had been a caregiver. Virginia was born in Detroit MI on March 16, 1952, to Orville “Pete” and Leona (Adams) Atteberry.
Virginia is survived by children- Kenneth (Danya) Myers of Fairfield, Sara Myers Bailey of Mt Vernon, Jennifer Ewing of Council Bluff IA, Shelly (Barry) Shreve of Wayne City, and Charla (Craig) Ralls of Mt Vernon; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister- Anna Marie Ruffin of St Louis Mo; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, brothers- Carl Naney and Terry Naney, sister- Pam Tondini.
Virginia will be cremated and the family will hold a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
Memorials may be made to help with cremation expenses and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is assisting the family with cremation.
