Fairfield was led by Kenry Hutchcraft who went 3-4 with a Triple and 2 Doubles and Kaylee Musgrave who went 1-3 with a Double and an RBI. Alivia Rice picked up the win for the Lady Mules, going 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits with 12 strikeouts. The Lady Mules will next be in action on Wednesday vs. Zeigler-Royalton in their opening game of the IHSA Class 2A Carmi Regional. Game time is 6pm

Noah Schultz was charged with his third loss after surrendering three runs on five hits in five-and-a-third innings. The Southsiders are in second place in the AL Central at 24-and-23. They send Anthony Kay to the mound against the M’s tonight.

Dansby Swanson homered in the losing effort, while Shota Imanaga was charged with his fourth loss after allowing eight runs on nine hits in four-and-a-third innings. Chicago remains in first place in the NL Central at 29-and-19. Ben Brown starts for the Cubs against the Brewers tonight.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Steelers have a full commitment from their veteran quarterback. Aaron Rodgers joined his teammates for Day One of Organized Team Activities on Monday. The 42-year-old signed a one-year deal worth up to 25-million dollars with Pittsburgh over the weekend. Linebacker Payton Wilson said he was a little “shocked” to see Rodgers at the practice facility following an offseason of uncertainty.

(Jacksonville, FL) — The Jaguars are off the hook for a sizable amount of money. Former head coach Urban Meyer lost his grievance against the team, according to On-3.com. Jacksonville terminated the 61-year-old with four years left on his deal. Meyer was trying to recoup the more than 30-million dollars he was owed on the rest of the contract, but an independent arbiter ruled the Jags fired Meyer with cause in 2021.

(Nashville, TN) — NFL owners will reportedly vote Tuesday to award Super Bowl LXIV in 2030 to Nashville. ESPN reports the game will be played in the Titans’ new stadium, which is scheduled to open in time for next season. It would be the first time the city will host the event.

>>Panthers DL Tershawn Wharton Recovering From Surgery

(Charlotte, NC) — The Panthers are probably going to be without a member of their front seven as the start of training camp. Head coach Dave Canales confirmed Monday that defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton recently underwent neck surgery. The expectation is for him to begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list. He is “recovering great,” but there is no timetable for his return to play.

>>Spurs Take Early Western Conference Finals Lead In Instant Classic

(Undated) — The Spurs are ahead in the Western Conference Finals after earning an incredible road victory. The team outlasted the Thunder 122-115 in double overtime of Game One from Oklahoma City. Victor Wembanyama dominated with 41 points as OKC will try to even the best-of-seven series at one game apiece on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Eastern Conference Finals gets underway on Tuesday. Jalen Brunson and the Knicks square off against Donovan Mitchell’s Cavaliers from Madison Square Garden.

(Undated) — The Pelicans have found their next head coach. New Orleans is hiring former Orlando Magic coach Jamahl Mosley as the franchise’s new head coach. ESPN reports that the deal is for five years. Mosley led the Magic three consecutive playoff appearances over the past three seasons, but was fired by the team on May 4th following a first-round exit. The 47-year-old has the third-most regular-season wins in Magic franchise history. He takes over a team that finished this season 11th in the West at 26-and-56.

>>Conference Finals Set In Stanley Cup Playoffs

(Undated) — The conference finals are set in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Carolina Hurricanes will be facing the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Final after the Habs topped the Buffalo Sabres in Game Seven of their second round series. Carolina is hoping to advance to the Cup Final for the first time since winning it all in 2006. Montreal last played for the Cup in 2021. Game One is slated for Thursday in Raleigh. The Western Conference Final is set to start on Wednesday. The Colorado Avalanche are hosting the Vegas Golden Knights in Game One. Colorado won the Cup in 2022 before Vegas lifted it the following year.

>>Rangers Place Seager On 10-Day IL

(Undated) — The Rangers will be without their two-time World Series MVP shortstop for at least the next week. Texas is placing Corey Seager on the 10-day injured list because of lower back inflammation. The 32-year-old did not play in last weekend’s three-game series against Houston and his placement on the IL is retroactive to Friday. The 32-year-old is currently in the midst of a career-worst 0-for-27 slump and is batting .179 with seven homers and 20 RBIs through 42 games. The Rangers promoted utility player Michael Helman from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

>>Texas Tech QB Sorsby Files Injunction

(Undated) — Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby is seeking his college eligibility for the 2026 football season. The signal caller, who has sought treatment for a gambling addiction, filed for an injunction against the NCAA on Monday. The filing was made in Lubbock County, Texas, and cites the NCAA’s “deeply hypocritical” position on gambling and a “wholesale abandonment” of its obligations and duties to promote the well-being of Sorsby. The redshirt senior is currently ineligible to play due to prior violations of the NCAA’s sports gambling rules. The NCAA issued a statement Monday saying it had not received a reinstatement request for this case.
