The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that all lanes of Interstate 64 over the Wabash River, near the Illinois-Indiana state line, will be closed overnight on Tuesday, May 26th, and Wednesday, May 27th, to allow for emergency bridge repairs.
The closures are scheduled nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weather permitting, and the work is expected to be completed over two nights.
Motorists should anticipate delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during the closure period. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, remain alert for changing road conditions, obey all construction signage, and avoid using mobile devices while driving through the area.
The overnight closure will be in effect from Tuesday, May 26th, to Wednesday, May 27th, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
