Chase Meidroth tied the game with an RBI single before Andrew Benintendi drove in the go-ahead run. Bryan Hudson earned his second win in relief. The Southsiders remain in second place in the AL Central at 25-and-23. Sean Burke starts for Chicago against Seattle this afternoon.

Ivan Herrera hit a three-run home run in the 10th inning to give the Cardinals a 9-6 win over the Pirates. In addition to Herrera’s homer, JJ Wetherholt, Alec Burleson and Nolan Gorman also went yard for St. Louis. George Soriano picked up the win out of the bullpen. The Cardinals improved to 28-and-19 with the win. Michael McGreevy starts for St. Louis against Pittsburgh tonight.

The Chicago Cubs are on a four-game losing streak following a 5-2 loss against the Milwaukee Brewers from Wrigley Field. The Cubs gave up the first five runs of the game before finally getting a pair in the bottom of the eighth. Nico Hoerner and Seiya Suzuki both drove in a run in the losing effort, while Ben Brown was charged with the loss after surrendering three runs on seven hits in five innings. The Northsiders are in third place in the NL Central at 29-and-20. They send Edward Cabrera to the mound against the Brewers tonight.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Sky will be missing one of their starters for the rest of the 2026 season. The team announced yesterday that forward Rickea Jackson tore her ACL during Chicago’s win over the Lynx on Sunday. The date of her surgery hasn’t been announced. Jackson was averaging 18 points and four-point-eight rebounds in four games this year.

(Undated) — The Mavericks are beginning the search for a new head coach. Dallas is moving on from Jason Kidd after five seasons in what the team described as a mutual parting of ways. ESPN reports that Kidd has four years and more than 40-million-dollars remaining on his contract. New team president Masai Ujiri said in a statement that he believes this is the “right moment” for a new direction for the team. Kidd helped guide the Mavs to an NBA Finals appearance in 2024, but missed the postseason in three of his five seasons as head coach. The 53-year-old has a 388-and-395 as an NBA head coach since his retirement as a player in 2013.

(Dallas, TX) — Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is in custody in Texas after violating probation tied to a high-speed crash case. Dallas County court records say Rice tested positive for THC and was arrested Tuesday. The court had ordered Rice to serve a previously issued 30-day jail sentence with a listed release date of June 16th. Rice is serving probation in connection with a March 2024 crash that injured other drivers during an alleged highway racing incident in Dallas. He pleaded guilty to a pair of third-degree felony charges in the case.

(Orlando, FL) — Day one of the NFL’s spring meetings is in the books. The league voted to award Super Bowl 64 to Nashville for the first time. The game will be played at the new home of the Tennessee Titans, which is scheduled to open in time for next season. In other news, the league announced that 10 games will be played internationally next season and that teams will not be allowed to protect games from being played out of the country. Previously, teams were allowed to prevent two games from being taken from their home stadiums.

(Atlanta, GA) — The Falcons are getting good news on their ailing quarterback. Michael Penix Jr. returned to practice on Tuesday as the team gathered for OTAs. The 26-year-old is recovering from knee surgery and says the “goal” is to play Week One. Atlanta signed Tua Tagovailoa [[ TUNG-oh-vai-LO-uh ]] in the offseason as insurance following his release from Miami. Penix was taken eighth-overall in the 2024 draft.

(Undated) — The Stanley Cup playoffs continue Wednesday night. The Colorado Avalanche are hosting the Vegas Golden Knights for Game One of the Western Conference Final from Denver. The Avalanche won two of their three battles against the Golden Knights during the regular season. The Eastern Conference Final is set to begin on Thursday. The Carolina Hurricanes are hosting the Montreal Canadiens for Game One from Raleigh. The Canes will be looking for their first win of the season against the Habs after going 0-and-3 in the regular season.
>>Braves’ Drake Baldwin Lands On IL With Oblique Injury
(Atlanta, GA) — The Braves are dealing with an injury to another one of their star players. Drake Baldwin was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with an oblique strain. The catcher got hurt during Monday’s loss against the Marlins and was replaced by backup Sandy Leon. Baldwin is hitting .303 this season with 13 home runs and 38 RBIs. Atlanta recently activated star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. from the IL.

(Baton Rouge, LA) — A men’s basketball player that signed two professional contracts has committed to play at LSU. ESPN reports that former St. John’s star RJ Luis has committed to the Tigers, although there is a long eligibility fight ahead of him and the school. The 2025 Big East Player of the Year entered the NBA Draft last summer and went undrafted before signing a two-way contract with the Utah Jazz. He was then traded to the Boston Celtics in August in exchange for Georges Niang and two future second-round picks. He was waived by the Celtics and then Boston’s G League affiliate before playing a game. The NCAA has previously ruled that players who sign NBA contracts are ineligible.
