Volunteers will gather this (Thursday) afternoon at 4 p.m. to place American flags on the graves of veterans at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield in preparation for Memorial Day observances.
Participants are asked to meet at the brick maintenance building before the flag placement begins.
Community members are encouraged to attend and assist in honoring local veterans for their military service and sacrifice.
