Several Albion area churches are teaming up to provide free sack lunches for children as part of the Albion Summer Lunch Program. The initiative begins June 1st and continues through July 24th, with lunches distributed at the Albion Pagoda on the Edwards County Courthouse Square.
Lunches will be served Monday through Friday starting at 11:30 a.m. The program is focused on feeding children during the summer break, ensuring no child goes hungry while school is out.
The effort is a collaboration between Albion United Methodist Church, First Missionary Baptist Church of Albion, House of Prayer, Albion Free Methodist Church, and West Village Christian Church. Drinks for the program are generously provided by the Edwards County Farm Bureau.
