The Chicago White Sox rattled off 18 hits during a 15-2 win over the Minnesota Twins from Rate Field. The Southsiders scored five runs in both the fifth and seventh innings. Munetaka Murakami and Chase Meidroth each went deep, while David Sandlin earned his first win after allowing one run on one hit in six innings. The Sox are in second place in the AL Central at 28-and-27. They send Davis Martin to the mound against Minnesota this afternoon.

The St. Louis Cardinals were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cardinals lost the series finale 2-1 from American Family Field yesterday. Dustin May took a no-hitter into the eighth inning before Milwaukee rallied for two runs in the frame. May was charged with his sixth loss after going for seven-plus innings and allowing one earned run and one unearned run. Bryan Torres drove in the Cardinals only run of the game. St. Louis is in second place in the NL Central at 29-and-25. The Cardinals host the Cubs tomorrow night.

The Cubs finally put an end to their lengthy losing streak after beating the Pirates 10-4 in Pittsburgh. Jacob Webb picked up the victory after striking out the side in a scoreless inning of relief. Ian Happ slugged a three-run blast and Michael Conforto went deep with a two-run shot in the top of the seventh. Chicago had lost each of its last 10. The Northsiders are in third place in the NL Central at 30-and-26. They send Colin Rea to the mound against Pittsburgh tonight.

(Champaign, IL) — Andrej Stojakovic is withdrawing from the NBA Draft and returning to Illinois for his senior season. Stojakovic announced the news yesterday on social media, several hours before the NCAA deadline to withdraw and retain college eligibility. The small forward averaged around 14 points and four rebounds per game last season for an Illini team that reached the Final Four.

(Hobart, WI) — Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been released from jail amid domestic violence allegations in Wisconsin. The Brown County District Attorney’s Office says a scheduled court hearing Wednesday was canceled because investigators believe additional evidence may exist that could impact whether charges are filed. The Hobart/Lawrence Police Department says Jacobs was booked Tuesday following a disturbance call last Saturday. Jacobs’ attorneys released a statement saying they are pleased no charges have been filed and remain confident charges will not be brought against him. The former first-round pick by the then-Oakland Raiders joined the Packers in 2024.

Mike Vrabel spoke to reporters for the first time since missing the third day of the NFL Draft, and said it was a decision he does not regret. New England’s bench boss has been at the center of controversy surrounding him and former Athletic reporter Dianna Russini this offseason.
