A Cisne woman was arrested Tuesday evening following a traffic stop conducted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 5 p.m., a Clay County deputy stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Saddle Club Road. During the investigation, a K-9 unit was deployed and conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle, indicating the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia, other controlled substances, and U.S. currency.
As a result of the investigation, 61-year-old Brenda Locke of Cisne was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Locke was transported to the Clay County Jail, where she remains in custody pending a court appearance.
