Sims Baptist Church is inviting children and teens to participate in a four-day Vacation Bible School event June 11-14 at the church located at 310 S. Bond Street in Sims. The VBS program will be held each morning from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and will feature breakfast, worship, missions, Bible lessons, crafts, and games.
The event will conclude with a special Closing Celebration on Friday, June 14, at 10:30 a.m. During the program, children will help lead worship services before the church hosts an outdoor summer party. Vacation Bible School is open to children ages 4 through high school seniors. Church officials remind parents and guardians that children must be picked up each day by an authorized adult.
Following the VBS closing celebration, Sims Baptist Church will host a community Summer Party from noon until 3 p.m. The event is open to all ages and will include an 18-foot waterslide, bounce house, games, and food.
Lunch will be served from noon until 1:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and towels, and those planning to use the waterslide are asked to wear shorts and T-shirts.
Church officials also noted there will be no evening worship service that day. Regular Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship services at 10:30 a.m.
