A Fairfield man arrested over the weekend is free following a court appearance yesterday. 49-year-old James Lurz, was arrested over the weekend and charged with a Class 3 Felony Charge of Possession of Methamphetamine under or less than 5 grams. Yesterday, in Wayne County Circuit Court, Lurz pled Guilty to the charge. In return for the Guilty Plea, he was sentenced to 2 years probation, fined $75, ordered to pay restitution of $425 to Michelle Asher, ordered to have no contact with Samantha Swafford, pay $50 to the anti-crime fund, given credit for 6 days served in jail, and all other pending charges were dismissed.
