Arthur R. Barger, 45, of McLeansboro was arrested by Carmi police Saturday afternoon on three active warrants and new drug charges. Carmi police spotted Barger on Sycamore Street shortly before 3:30 p.m. and knew he was wanted on warrants out of Wayne, White, and Hamilton Counties. In Wayne County, Barger was wanted for aggravated fleeing or eluding. In White County, he has a warrant for meth possession and in Hamilton County, a failure to appear warrant for aggravated battery. In addition to the warrants, Barger was also jailed on new charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. He has been jailed pending an appearance before a judge.
