On Sunday afternoon, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified of a car vs. deer accident on Route 45 south of Fairfield. Lucas D. Reed, 24, of Fairfield, reported to deputies that early Sunday morning, while traveling northbound on Route 45 near County Road 625 North, a deer entered the roadway and he was unable to avoid a collision with the animal. Reed’s 2023 Chevrolet Silverado sustained over $1500 in damage but was able to be driven from the scene. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued.
