The Fairfield Community High School Board of Education will meet Monday, June 22nd, beginning with a public budget hearing at 6 p.m. in the FCHS Study Hall.
The hearing will focus on the board’s intent to amend the Fiscal Year 2026 budget and will include an opportunity for public comment.
During the regular meeting that follows, board members will review financial reports, hear updates on summer activities and maintenance projects, receive the annual agriculture report, and discuss ongoing renovation projects.
Under old business, the board is expected to consider final approval of the amended FY26 budget and the 2026-27 Student Handbook.
New business includes; Consideration and action on a Resolution providing for the issue of$3,545,000 General Obligation Refunding School Bonds, Series 2026,of Community High School District Number 225, Wayne and White Counties, Illinois, for the purpose of refunding certain outstanding bonds of said School District, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest on said bonds, and authorizing the sale of said bonds to the purchaser thereof, consideration of a district risk management plan for FY27, a proposal from Shawnee LED to replace the sound system at the football and track field, appointment of a delegate to the Joint Annual Conference, and approval of registration fees for the 2026-27 school year. Board members will also conduct first readings of the district employee, coaching, and bus driver manuals.
Following a closed session, the board is expected to act on several personnel matters, including the resignations of a Family and Consumer Science teacher and FCCLA sponsor, a custodian, and a social worker. The board will also consider hiring class sponsors, individual aides, a Family and Consumer Science teacher, and an assistant cheer coach.
