The North Wayne Community Unit School District 200 Board of Education met Wednesday night at Cisne Middle School and approved several items during its regular monthly meeting. Board members approved the consent agenda, including minutes from the May meeting, personal and dock day requests, an overnight FCCLA trip to Evansville, Indiana, July 27-28, and the resignation of Nick Howard as Cisne High School Assistant Baseball Coach. The board also approved changes to the Cisne Middle School handbook.
Todd Cyrulik of BLDD Architects provided an update on a potential district restructuring plan. Among new business items approved were payment of monthly bills, renewal of employee health insurance through the Egyptian Trust, and commercial insurance rates for the coming year.
The board also set fees for the 2026-27 school year. Driver’s Education fees will remain $50, registration fees $40, community use of facilities will range from $50 to $75 depending on location, athletic event admission will be $3 with district students admitted free, adult lunches will cost $3.70, adult breakfasts $1.55, and extra milk 50 cents.
Board members also approved making executive session minutes from the past six months public record, with the exception of special meetings, and authorized destruction of audio recordings from July through December 2024, excluding special meeting recordings. The board adopted Press Plus Policy Update 121 as recommended by the policy committee.
Following executive session, the board approved the hiring of Misty Ellis as Cisne High School Assistant Softball Coach.
