

The Volunteer Firemen’s Association of West Salem, Inc. will host its annual Freedom Celebration, “America 250,” on June 27th and 28th. The festivities promise a weekend full of family fun, food, and fireworks in West Salem.
Events kick off on Saturday, June 27th, starting at 6:00 a.m. with breakfast sponsored by the West Salem Masonic Lodge at the Lumberyard Restaurant, north side of the West Salem Square. Activities throughout the day include a village-wide yard sale, a 5K run/walk, A wiffle ball tournament; a parade, music and food vendors will be set up at Centennial Park, and the day concludes with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.
The celebration continues on Sunday, June 28th, with worship in the park, a cornhole tournament, a community lunch, and awards for the car and truck show from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be a 50/50 and huge raffle drawing at the conclusion of Sunday’s events. The event is sponsored by the Volunteer Firemen’s Association of West Salem, Inc. All are invited to join in the festivities and celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
