A mobile home south of Fairfield was destroyed by fire Sunday evening.
Authorities said firefighters were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. to a residence at 391 County Highway 6, off the Burnt Prairie Blacktop. When crews arrived, the mobile home was fully engulfed in flames.
The home, owned by the Smith family, was occupied at the time of the fire, but all residents were able to escape safely. No injuries were reported.
The mobile home was declared a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
At nearly the same time, firefighters responded to a second call near Merriam, where a small bathroom fire filled a home with smoke. Fire officials reported only minor damage, and no injuries were reported in that incident.
