Flora Tourism has announced a full schedule of family-friendly activities for Independence Day on July 4 at Charley Brown Park.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with the All American Boy and All American Girl Contest on the Kiwanis Stage. The contest is open to boys and girls ages 3 to 7, with entries due by Wednesday. Registration forms are available at Lisa Erbacher Country Financial on East North Avenue.

Also beginning at 10 a.m., Kenzie’s Sweet Shop will be on site. Free inflatable attractions will be available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Flora Tourism will sell hot dogs and chips throughout the day.

Food trucks will open at 4 p.m., featuring Poe’d Smoked BBQ, The Fair Lady, Colonel Pop, and Krazy Sweet Treats. Live music by The Rewinds will be performed from 6 p.m. until dusk.

The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk, highlighted by a 900-shot grand finale.

Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the festivities. Shuttle service will be available between parking areas and event attractions, and organizers ask attendees to follow ESDA parking instructions.

Flora Tourism is also seeking additional volunteers. Anyone interested in helping can contact Arriel Dulaney at the Flora Chamber of Commerce at 618-662-5646.
