The Clay County Health Department will host the “Miles of Smiles” dental clinic on Wednesday, July 29th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Preventative dental services will be provided for eligible children in all grades by Miles of Smiles, Ltd.
Services include exams and screenings by licensed dental professionals, cleanings, fluoride varnish applications, and sealant placement if needed. These services also meet the State of Illinois dental requirement for students in Kindergarten, 2nd, 6th, and 9th grades.
There is no cost to families or the health department for these services. Miles of Smiles will bill Medicaid, grants, or private insurance where applicable, and will accept any reimbursement as final payment—ensuring families and schools are never billed for copays or balances.
