A Grayville man has pleaded guilty to felony charges stemming from an investigation that began with allegations he attempted to secretly record a woman inside a Road Ranger restroom.

Brian Allender entered an open guilty plea Monday in White County Circuit Court to one Class X felony count of child sexual abuse material and one Class 4 felony count of unauthorized videotaping.

The case began in April when Allender was arrested after allegedly trying to place a cellphone beneath a restroom stall to record a female employee. A forensic examination of the phone later uncovered images of child sexual abuse material, images involving sexual activity with animals, and additional videos believed to have been recorded inside a public restroom at the Road Ranger.

Judge T. Scott Webb ordered the White County Probation Department to complete a presentence investigation and a sex offender evaluation before sentencing.

Allender is scheduled to be sentenced on August 31st at 1:30 p.m. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors will dismiss the remaining charges, including additional counts of child sexual abuse material, unauthorized videotaping and bestiality.
