Three Fairfield residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of County Road 1000 North and County Road 1795 in Lamard Township of Wayne County.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Fairfield Rural Fire Department and two Wayne County Ambulances all responded to the crash which occurred at approximately 4pm.
Authorities said 16-year-old Jesalyn K. Pruitt was driving a 2012 Chrysler four-door, while 17-year-old Rylee A. Musgrave was driving a 2011 Chevrolet four-door.
The sheriff’s office reported both vehicles were cresting the hill at the same time while the Pruitt vehicle was traveling northbound and the Musgrave vehicle was traveling southbound. Deputies said both drivers’ got over as far as the could, but ended up hitting each other.
Pruitt was transported by Wayne County Ambulance personnel to Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Musgrave refused treatment at the scene. However, two passengers in the Musgrave vehicle were both transported by ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department investigated the accident.
