NEW HOPE GENERAL BAPTIST CHURCH AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO FIVE STUDENTS

New Hope General Baptist Church recognized five area students during a June worship service as recipients of its annual scholarship program.

Four students each received $2,000 scholarships. They include Lily Barbre, daughter of Jonathan and Heather Barbre, who is a 2025 Wayne City High School graduate and will attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to study computer science.

Allison Breuer, daughter of Todd and Kelli Breuer, received a $2,000 scholarship. A 2026 Fairfield Community High School graduate, she will attend Missouri University of Science and Technology, majoring in aerospace and mechanical engineering.

Mason Hill, the son of Jeremy and Melanie Hill, also received a $2,000 scholarship. A 2025 Fairfield Community High School graduate, he will attend Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee, to study music production.

Lily Simpson, daughter of Nathan and Jessica Simpson, was also awarded a $2,000 scholarship. A 2024 Fairfield Community High School graduate, she is attending the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville and is expected to graduate in December with degrees in accounting and business administration, with a concentration in agricultural business.

Alayna White, daughter of Daniel and Ashley White, received a $500 scholarship. A 2026 Wayne City High School graduate, she plans to attend Rend Lake College to study agriculture and finance.

The New Hope Church Scholarship Fund was established in 2016 to support post-secondary education for qualifying members of New Hope Church or churches within the Union Grove Association, as well as Wayne County high school graduates and college or technical school students.
