By Mark Wells Jul 6, 2026 | 5:59 AM

The Wayne County Fair returns for another year with events scheduled throughout the week.

Livestock competitions begin today (Monday) with rabbit, poultry, and junior goat shows. Tonight’s grandstand attraction will be Motocross at 7 p.m.

Tuesday features the 4-H and Junior Beef shows, the 4-H Goat Show, carnival rides from 6 to 10 p.m., and the Wayne County Fair Queen Pageant at 7 p.m.

Wednesday includes swine and sheep shows, harness racing at 5 p.m., and the release of non-sale livestock at 7 p.m.

Thursday’s schedule features the Dog and Llama/Alpaca Costume Contest, Round Robin competition, 4-H Awards, the 4-H Foundation Auction, and the Wayne County Fair Rodeo at 7 p.m. Following the rodeo, Independent singer-songwriter Tyson Schulte will take the stage. Admission to both the Rodeo and the concert is included with your Rodeo armband. After winning the Illinois State Fair Karaoke Contest twice and being featured in the New York Times, Schulte decided to pursue music full-time. His career has seen him open for country stars like Toby Keith, Tracy Lawrence, Craig Morgan, Aaron Tippin, Brooks & Dunn, Jake Owen, and Gretchen Wilson. With seven singles released and a rapidly growing social media following of over 90,000 fans, Schulte is quickly making a name for himself across the Midwest.

Friday, July 10th continues with a Craft and Flea Market and the popular Pig Penning competition at 7 p.m.

The fair concludes Saturday, July 11th with an Antique Truck Show, Antique Tractor Show, and the annual Demolition Derby at 7 p.m.

New this year is Bluegrass Rides of Kentucky, providing the midway. The carnival will feature eight rides—four kiddie rides and four adult rides—along with a mechanical bull. Fairgoers can also enjoy lemon shake-ups, cotton candy, snow cones, and taffy.

Carnival rides will operate Tuesday through Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. Armbands are $25 per night, or individual tickets are available for $5 each.
