Larry E. McCormick, age 81, of Orchardville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026, at his home.
Larry was born January 27, 1945, at his family home south of Orchardville, to the late Francis and Elsie (Scott) McCormick. On January 27, 1979, he married Jane C. Wilharm in Orchardville. They shared more than 42 years of marriage before she preceded him in passing on October 10, 2021.
Larry attended high school in Monticello and at DeLand-Weldon, graduating in 1963. He continued his education at a mechanics school in Kansas City, completing his studies in 1965. He later worked for Traver Ready-Mix.
Larry enjoyed fishing, stock car racing, hunting, and archery. He was a member of Orchardville Church for nearly 40 years and had been board president of the Orchardville Fire Protection District. He was also a member of the Southern Illinois Spoonpluggers fishing club.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Aaron McCormick and wife Alisa of Orchardville; 3 grandchildren: Draven, Izabella, and Wren; his brother: Gary W. McCormick; and nieces and nephews: Patty McCormick Payne (Toby Bullard), Brandon (Laura) McCormick, Mark (Judy) Evans, and Susan (Noel) Steinman.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Private burial will take place at Jacob’s Chapel Cemetery in Orchardville. Memorial donations are suggested to the Orchardville Church Building Fund or Lonesome Road Ministries and will be accepted through the funeral home.
