JJ Wetherholt hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for St. Louis, which snapped a four-game skid. The Cards host the Diamondbacks today in a makeup game at 4:15 this afternoon

The Cubs managed just a solo homer in a 5-1 loss to the Tigers at Wrigley Field. Seiya Suzuki went deep in the first inning for the Cubs, who are 3-and-3 since the break. Colin Rea allowed four runs in six frames as he dropped to 7-and-7. The Northsiders begin a seven-game road trip tomorrow in Pittsburgh.

(Kansas City, MO) — Chiefs owner Clark Hunt says the team’s new stadium will remain one of the toughest road environments in the NFL. Hunt released renderings of the team’s new domed stadium in Kansas today, saying it will be “built for noise.” The 70-thousand seat venue is expected to open in 2031 at a cost of three-billion-dollars.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Fever blew out the Connecticut Sun 123-88 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Caitlin Clark led all scorers with 27 points for the Fever. Indiana has won three in a row entering the All-Star break and will visit the Seattle Storm on Tuesday.
