Reports out of Wabash County say the city of Mt. Carmel’s new aquatic center is progressing. A meeting of the city council earlier this week indicated work is moving along well, with the bathhouse beginning to take shape.
Mayor Joe Judge indicated in the report that the bathhouse walls are going up, and crews continue making progress on the pool shell. Residents can expect to see visible changes in the coming weeks as the concrete walls begin to be poured. It was also announced that the project received another $20,000 in donations over the past couple of weeks.
The new pool is set to open for the 2027 swimming season.
