Fairfield Memorial Hospital honors an employee each month who has been nominated by their peers for providing extraordinary patient care and customer service within and outside of the Hospital.
Marty Simpson of the Plant Operations Department has been selected as Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s July 2026 Employee of the Month. Marty began his career at FMH in May 2022 and has continued to demonstrate dedication, dependability, and a strong commitment to the hospital and those he serves.
Marty was recognized for his hard work, willingness to help others, and commitment to ensuring FMH’s facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and employees. As a maintenance technician, Marty plays an important role in supporting daily operations throughout the hospital and is always willing to step in when help is needed.
In addition to his technical skills, Marty is known for his willingness to continue learning and sharing his knowledge with others. His positive attitude, teamwork, and genuine care for the facility and his coworkers make him a valuable member of the Plant Operations team.
“Marty is a valued employee and coworker, and I have known him for over 40 years. When he started with the Maintenance Department, I wondered if he would be the same Marty I remembered from our days working together at Red and White Grocery Store. I quickly realized he was still the same person with a high ethical standard, honesty, a strong work ethic, and a common-sense approach that is a rare quality today.
Marty is a pleasure to work with, and his problem-solving attitude is invaluable to our team. Whatever challenges we face in caring for the FMH facility and the people within it, Marty is willing to help find a solution. Whether something needs to be ordered, repaired, built, or fabricated, he works with the team to make it happen. He is always mindful of the needs and safety of those around him, and Fairfield Memorial Hospital is fortunate to have him as part of our team.” said Robert Koker, Plant Operations Coordinator.
