Chicago jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after the 1st 2 innings with the Cardinals only managing to pick up 2 runs on 7 hits. The Cardinals were led by Masyn Winn who went 2-4 with a Double and an RBI while the Cubs were led by Seiya Suzuki who went 3-5, with a Double and 2 RBI’s. Chicago’s Colin Rea picked up the win going 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits with 2 strike outs. St. Louis’ Michael McGreevy took the loss only lasting 1 2/3 innings while giving up 7 runs on 8 hits with 2 strikeouts. The two teams will face off again tonight at 6:45 at Busch Stadium.
