EDWARDS COUNTY 4-H CROWNS BEEF, MASTER SHOWMANSHIP CHAMPIONS

Edwards County 4-H wrapped up its annual 4-H Beef Show and Master Showmanship Contest on Wednesday, July 29, with exhibitors earning top honors across a variety of classes. Illinois Extension and Edwards County 4-H thanked the judges, volunteers and sponsors for their support in making this year’s shows a success. Kelly Hinderliter claimed Grand Champion Beef Female, sponsored by Livesay’s Windy Hill Farm, after also winning the Champion Shorthorn and Champion All Other Breeds Female divisions. Tyler Knakmuhs earned Reserve Grand Champion Beef Female after exhibiting the Champion Hereford Female and Champion Angus Female. In the market competition, Sydney Williams exhibited the Grand Champion Market Steer, sponsored by the Edwards County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, while Justin Bunting received Reserve Grand Champion Market Steer honors. Other breed champions included J.W. Simms-Reisner, Champion and Reserve Champion Simmental Female; Alyssa Smith, Champion Crossbred Female; Justin Bunting, Reserve Champion Crossbred Female; Ryleigh Moore, Reserve Champion Angus Female; and Kyntlee Kelsey, Reserve Champion Shorthorn. Mayleigh Terry exhibited the Champion Bucket Calf, while Nash St. Ledger earned Bucket Calf Showmanship honors. Showmanship winners were Sydney Williams in the senior division, Tyler Knakmuhs in the junior division and Kelly Hinderliter in the novice division. Waylon Pritchett received the Rate of Gain Award, sponsored by the Kelsey Family in memory of Todd Kelsey.
The annual Master Showmanship Contest was won by J.W. Simms-Reisner, who was named Overall Showmanship Champion. Sydney Williams earned Reserve Overall Showmanship honors. The Master Showmanship award was sponsored by Neil and Debbie Fearn.
