The American Heart Association completed a review of the Salem Township Hospital recently, and told the hospital board that the review showed positive results.
Reports out of Marion County said the hospital’s CEO Jim Timpe reported the hospital had a good first quarter, after reviewing the numbers at a recent board meeting. He said $226,000 in charity care was provided to those who couldn’t afford their bills, and also indicated the hospital is continuing to make a financial advisor available to those having difficulties paying their medical bills.
Timpe also indicated that the American Heart Association does an inspection every couple of years, and after looking at their records was able to move the hospital from a bronze level award to a silver award this year.
