A rural Mount Erie woman died Saturday after a tragic accident involving a stack of lumber at a wooded property southwest of Mt. Erie.
Reports indicate 46-year-old Mandy L. Fox was inside a box trailer sorting lumber for a home she was remodeling when a stack of wood shifted and fell on her.
Her boyfriend discovered Fox unresponsive beneath the lumber and immediately called for help.
Fox was transported to Fairfield Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to an Evansville hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Fox had been living in a home on the Galen Fox property north of Fairfield while preparing a new house for occupancy.
