FORD RECALLS MORE THAN 565,000 BRONCOS OVER FIRE RISK

By Mark Wells Aug 7, 2026 | 11:48 AM

Ford is recalling more than 565,000 Bronco SUVs because of an electrical problem that could increase the risk of an engine compartment fire.

The recall covers certain 2021 through 2026 Ford Bronco and Bronco Raptor vehicles.

According to recall documents, wiring in the engine compartment can chafe and cause a short circuit. Drivers may notice smoke coming through the cabin air vents or receive a warning message on the instrument cluster.

Ford reported 15 incidents involving fires that may have originated with the engine compartment wiring harness.

Owners will be instructed to take affected vehicles to a Ford dealership, where technicians will add protective sheathing and abrasion tape to the wiring harness at no charge.

Ford has begun notifying dealers and plans to mail notices to affected vehicle owners between August 24th and August 28th.
