The Illinois Department of Transportation is accepting applications for a record $157 million in Transportation Enhancement Program funding.
The grants will support projects such as bicycle and pedestrian paths, recreational trails, streetscape improvements and other transportation-related enhancements.
IDOT said at least 25% of the available funding will be awarded to disadvantaged and economically distressed communities.
Applications must be submitted by October 5.
