(Chicago, IL) — The Bears will be without one of their top defensive backs for a good chunk of the upcoming season. Coby Bryant is expected to miss four-to-six months following knee surgery. The safety got hurt during one-on-one drills last week after hyperextending the knee. Bryant signed a three-year, 40-million dollar deal to join Chicago during free agency.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Kyler Murray has beaten out JJ McCarthy for the job just two weeks into training camp. The 29-year-old signed a one-year deal with Minnesota this offseason after playing his first seven NFL campaigns with the Arizona Cardinals.

(Owings Mills, MD) — The Baltimore Ravens are hoping cornerback Nate Wiggins avoided a serious injury at training camp. Wiggins had to be carted off the practice field yesterday after appearing to hurt his left leg when he got tangled with wideout Ja’Kobi Lane during a drill. Head coach Jesse Minter was optimistic that Wiggins will be okay. The 22-year-old started every game for Baltimore last season, recording 76 tackles and three interceptions.

(Florham Park, NJ) — New York Jets cornerback Qwan’Tez Stiggers is expected to be okay after being stretchered off the practice field at training camp. Head coach Aaron Glenn says Stiggers passed out on the sideline after finishing a play during team drills yesterday. Practice was stopped for about ten minutes while trainers got the 24-year-old onto the stretcher and started an IV. Stiggers was conscious and talking as he was being treated.

(Metairie, LA) — The start of Cam Jordan’s 16th and final NFL season may be delayed because of an injury. The New Orleans Saints edge rusher is dealing with a hamstring strain suffered last week, and head coach Kellen Moore is preparing for the injury to linger into the regular season. Jordan has only missed two games due to injury or illness in the previous 15 seasons.

(New York, NY) — The reigning NBA champion New York Knicks will help tip off the upcoming season. Several marquee games were unveiled by the league, including an Opening Night tripleheader that’ll be headlined by the Knicks raising their championship banner before hosting LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers. The slate on October 20th also includes the Detroit Pistons hosting the Boston Celtics before the Oklahoma City Thunder renew their rivalry with the San Antonio Spurs. (Waco, TX) — The disqualification of a Little League Baseball team that was one win away from going to Williamsport is being upheld. Little League International announced Tuesday that a judge vacated the temporary restraining order that would’ve allowed Tulsa National to play in the Southwest Region championship. The TRO was requested by parents of Tulsa players on Monday after the squad was disqualified for using an ineligible player. The organization said it hopes the adults entrusted with operating Tulsa National recognizes “the responsibility they bear toward the children in their care and act accordingly.”
