Organizers of the 2026 West Salem Homecoming and Chowder have announced the Grand Marshal and emcee for this year’s parade. The parade is Saturday beginning at 9:30am.
Retired West Salem Fire Chief Harvey Fenton has been selected as Grand Marshal. Fenton joined the West Salem Fire Department in 1980 and has served the department for 46 years, including 36 years as fire chief. He currently serves as assistant chief.
Mark Curtis has been selected to serve as parade emcee. Curtis has been a broadcaster since 1973 and is a WFIW correspondent. He also serves as Edwards County Coroner.
Parade lineup will begin at 8:30am.
Participants should gather at 324 Northwest Street in West Salem. The parade route will begin at JJ’s Truck & Trailer parking lot, travel around the town square, and return to the starting area.
The parade is one of the highlights of the West Salem Homecoming and Chowder celebration, bringing together local organizations, businesses, and community members for a morning of hometown pride and tradition.
