The new Albion Arts Council is inviting plein air and local artists to take part in a “Paint Edwards County, IL” event on Monday, September 21st.
Optional canvas stamping will begin at 8 a.m., with artists invited to paint throughout the Edwards County area. An artists’ lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
An art show and sale will follow from 6 to 8 p.m. at Country Financial Hall in Albion.
Several cash awards will be presented to plein air artists, including $250 each for Best of Show, People’s Choice, Best of Edwards County and Best of West Salem.
Local artists will also compete for awards, including $250 for Best of Show and Best of Edwards County, along with $100 awards for People’s Choice and Best of Albion.
The awards are being sponsored by several area businesses and organizations, including WGH Albion Clinic, CNB of Albion, Albion Chamber of Commerce, West Salem Development Association, CRHPC Albion Community Health Center, Doug Raber State Farm Insurance and Mitchell Insurance.
The event is sponsored by the Albion Arts Council.
