An Elkville man is facing additional felony charges following a head-on crash that claimed the lives of a Southern Illinois woman and her unborn son.

Online court records show 30-year-old Christian C. Kistner is now charged with two counts of reckless homicide involving a motor vehicle and driving with a revoked license resulting in personal injury or death.

Kistner was initially charged with DUI and driving with a revoked license following the Aug. 14 crash on U.S. Highway 51 in DeSoto.

The crash killed 20-year-old Mariana F. Fabian of Alto Pass and her unborn son, Xavier D. Lopez. Authorities initially reported Fabian as the only fatality, but information released by her funeral home later confirmed the death of her unborn child.

Officials say Kistner was on pretrial release in connection with an April DUI case when the fatal crash occurred.

Kistner is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on September 1st.
