The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake will host its first Glow Swim at South Sandusky Beach on Saturday.
The after-hours event will run from 9 to 10 p.m. and feature water safety games, music, glow-in-the-dark face painting and glow sticks for participants to decorate their life jackets.
Anyone entering the water will be required to wear a life jacket, with jackets available for those who need one.
South Sandusky Beach will remain open beyond its normal sunset closing time, and beach fees will be waived. Visitors are encouraged to make a parking donation to the Core Friends of Rend Lake to support future special events.
April’s Tropical Snow will also be on site.
Activities may be modified in the event of rain, while severe weather will cancel the event.
