The annual Flora Fun Fest Chili Cook-Off will return Saturday, September 19, and organizers are looking for individuals, businesses, churches, clubs and organizations to compete for this year’s title.
There is no entry fee.
Competitors must cook their chili on site, although ingredients may be prepared or pre-cooked beforehand. Participants must provide their own ingredients and prepare enough chili for festival visitors to sample.
Each entrant is also responsible for providing tables, chairs and a canopy for a 10-by-10-foot space. Electricity will be available but could be limited depending on the number of entries. The Flora Tourism Committee will provide sample cups and spoons.
Festival visitors will determine the winner through a public vote. The champion will receive a $100 gift card and have their name added to the traveling Chili Cook-Off plaque displayed at Flora City Hall.
