The Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Board of Trustees approved its tentative Fiscal Year 2027 budget along with several agreements, personnel moves and other measures during its Monday night meeting.

The tentative budget includes $20.67 million in planned capital spending. A public hearing and final budget adoption are scheduled for September 15th.

The board also authorized the sale of approximately 1.21 acres adjacent to Frontier Community College for student housing development. The purchaser will be required to use the property for student housing and begin construction within three months of closing.

Trustees approved the district’s 2026 Program Review Report and a clinical education agreement with the University of Southern Indiana, allowing nursing students to complete required clinical experiences at IECC facilities.

Several personnel appointments were also approved, including Luis Rodriguez as head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Lincoln Trail College and new positions at Wabash Valley, Lincoln Trail and Olney Central colleges. The appointments take effect August 24th.

The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for September 15th at 6:15 p.m. at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel.
