The North Wayne Community Unit School District #200 Board of Education tentatively approved the district’s 2026-27 budget during its meeting Wednesday night at Cisne Middle School.

The board set a public budget hearing for September 23 at 5:50 p.m. at Cisne Middle School.

During the meeting, new employees Avery Smith, Ashley Shreve, Libby Pearson, Jim Farleigh, Paul Lowe, April Walker and Chandler Courtright were introduced.

The board accepted the resignation of Katlyn Tannahill as an individual aide and approved two donations from Fairfield National Bank — $2,500 for the district’s Community Connections Fund and $500 for the Cisne High School FFA.

Other consent agenda action included approval of the Cisne Middle School Improvement Plan, personal leave and dock day requests, authorization of overdrafts and designation of the Wayne County Press for legal notices.

Following an executive session, the board hired Izzy Serles as an individual aide for the 2026-27 school year.
