The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has released additional details on four arrests made over the weekend.
22-year-old Brian Pemberton of Flora was arrested Friday afternoon on a Wayne County warrant for battery. Pemberton was lodged in the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance.
At approximately 11 p.m. Friday, deputies were dispatched to a report of a vehicle parked in the roadway near rural Xenia in Wayne County. Deputies reported finding 29-year-old Quaden L. Noblet of Xenia unresponsive inside the vehicle. They were able to wake Noblet and assist him from the vehicle. According to the sheriff’s department, Noblet became aggressive during the encounter and took a fighting stance before deputies detained him. Noblet was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the Wayne County Jail.
On Sunday, August 23, deputies on patrol observed 29-year-old Gage L. Devers of Sims. Deputies knew Devers was wanted on a White County warrant and took him into custody. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail.
Also Sunday, at approximately 7 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a woman being battered by a man in the front yard of a Fairfield residence. The sheriff’s department says 27-year-old Preston M. Slone of Dix fled on foot when deputies arrived. Deputies pursued Slone and caught him following a short foot chase. Authorities say Slone resisted arrest before being restrained and handcuffed. Following an investigation, deputies determined Slone had battered someone at the residence. He was arrested on charges of battery and resisting or obstructing a peace officer and transported to the Wayne County Jail.
