FNB Community Bank is warning customers about a scam designed to steal personal banking information.
The bank says customers have reported suspicious phone calls claiming a large transaction is taking place on their account. The caller then tells the customer to click a link sent by email to stop the transaction.
FNB says the link is an attempt to obtain sensitive banking information.
Customers are urged not to provide passwords, account numbers or security codes over the phone or through email and should not click links in unexpected or suspicious messages.
Anyone receiving a questionable call should contact FNB Community Bank directly using one of the bank’s official phone numbers.
Customers who believe their account may have been compromised are also encouraged to contact the bank so staff can review the account for suspicious activity.
