Organizers of the Mt. Vernon Fall Fest are warning vendors about fraudulent emails being sent in connection with this year’s festival.
Officials say the scam emails may appear legitimate because information has been copied from the official Fall Fest Facebook event. However, the messages are not affiliated with Mt. Vernon Fall Fest or Mt. Vernon Festivals, Inc.
Warning signs include emails sent from Gmail accounts rather than an official Mt. Vernon address, phone numbers outside the 618 area code and requests for personal information or vendor payments to unfamiliar people or accounts.
Organizers are urging vendors not to send money, click payment links or provide personal information in response to suspicious messages.
Anyone questioning whether a vendor communication is legitimate should contact festival organizers directly at 618-242-3151 before making a payment.
The 2026 Mt. Vernon Fall Fest is scheduled for September 25th and 26th.
