A Flora man has been arrested following a months-long investigation that began with allegations of inappropriate communications with a juvenile.
Flora Police say the investigation began May 7th after the department received a complaint alleging an adult male had been exchanging messages with a juvenile female.
Following an extensive investigation, authorities obtained an arrest warrant September 4th for 37-year-old Darrell J. Newman of Flora.
Newman was arrested later that day and taken to the Clay County Jail, where he was being held pending his first court appearance.
Police say Newman faces 10 counts involving child sexual abuse material.
The investigation included assistance from the Coeur d’Alene Police Department in Idaho, Idaho State Police, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and Clay County State’s Attorney’s Office.
